I have all my documents, address files and favorites save to CDs.
I want to load XP on a clean drive. Question; Can I import the above files into XP Windows ? Also anyone have the address to the News Group for XP Home Edition ? Thanks Fritz |

Copy the documents once you have the application they were created with installed.
Import the address book in OE. File Import Address book. Browse to the location you have it and double click it to import. Copy the contents of the favorites folder to the favorites folder in your user account. All Xp ng's cover both versions and there are many, one for starters is: microsoft.public.windowsxp.general -- Brian A. Yes.
There are many, many Windows XP newsgroups. Three that I think you might start with a news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...dowsxp.general news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...owsxp.newusers news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...tup_deployment That last one may be more aimed at corporate deployment, not home users, but give it a look. If you use a newsreader to go to news://msnews.microsoft.com, you'll see a lot more groups that might interest you--Hardware, Customization, Performance & Maintenance... Have fun! -- Gary S. Yup, Fritz. They can't get rid of me that easily! Of course, I *was* an Windows
98 MVP, but then was made an all-purpose "Windows 9x" MVP (95, 98, 98SE, ME), and have, as of today, been re-awarded as a "Shell/User" MVP. Guess that means I should be competent in any Windows client platform, eh? Well, I guess that's true, but I find Win98 users and issues to be more interesting, eg. Helps that since the release of XP, this NG has had its troll component thoroughly decimated. But now, I have to go take care of the rest of my life, which is rather hectic of late, s.
