Can no longer format CD-R/W disks with InCD

The help was useful and informative and appreciated! If anything else comes
to mind, please let me know. One thing I haven't tried is getting compressed
air and blowing out the CD-R/W drive. Maybe, unplugging it and letting
Windows re-recognize it and then reinstalling Nero would help. I'll try
anything and have not given up. Such a relatively small problem, but
sometimes those are the most difficult to solve!

This is advisable as it has become a significantly more stable product

over
the years. Obviously you're not using Nero 6, but with luck you are

using
Nero 5.5. If so you can update for free to Nero551056, but anyway look

More importantly perhaps though is that you can update for free to the

very
latest version of InCD. Take a look he

InCD, much more than Nero, has benefitted from continual development.

PROBLEM SOLVED... ...PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

It turned out to be the simplest cu run one of those CD lens cleaner
discs in the drive. We had one in the house that was probably close to ten
years old and we also had plenty of liquid in the little bottle that came
with it. I had nothing to lose. I ran it through the drive per the
instructions. That did the trick. I can now format, read, write, add, delete
to CD-R/W disks. Well, most of them. This "Pine" drive seems to like the
"Staples" brand CD-R/W disk, it spits out Sony's. I can live with that. I
make it a point to periodically chuck CD-R/W disks I've used for a while,
mostly the back-up ones. Also, the older version of InCD works all the time
where as the newer 3.5.24.0 version does not. For me at least. So, that's my
story. Hope this helps someone else out. Never give up! Thanks again!

Super!! And I remember now that I had problems with CD's that were *gold*.
Blue and silver recording sides work fine with this Samsung CD-RW......but
not gold, as in *Kodak gold*.

Took me forever to figure it out as well.....so glad to hear your good
news!!
