files and folders - clear search history
"Clear History" in Internet Settings *also* clears Find history (and =
several others.) If you only want to selectively clear Find history, it = would require a registry edit or two. See: = http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3D142298 There are also several utilities out there that will do all this and = much more for you. My wife likes WindowWasher: http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/w...sher/index.php Another one, Windows Tracks Washer, looks interesting: http://www.elegant-soft.com/index.htm I don't use such tools, and I also happen to be a lone voice in the = wilderness that insists that most casual users of Windows should *not* = use such all-in-one paranoia tools, particularly tools that get involved = with the internet cache (or they should at least not invoke the = cache-cleaning portions of the tools.) Even more against the grain of = "common wisdom", and even more forcefully, I am one who does *not* think = that TweakUI or similar tools (which include "paranoia" options) are in = the best interests of users who don't already know how to do these = things by themselves. They're fine as power tools for power users, but = can be downright dangerous in the hands of novices, permitting them to = invoke changes that are difficult or impossible to revert. --=20 Gary S.
