When you reinstalled windows you did not enable large drive support(fat32), so
2gb(fat16 maximum) is all you got, however the rest is recoverable using fdisk to create a logical drive in the unallocated space, consider also converting the c: drive to fat32 which will release some slack space on the drive, do not use fdisk to change the existing c: partition as you will lose any information on the c: partition that you have not backed up, you could consider reinstalling with large drive support. -- Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de spybot http://security.kolla.de AVG free antivirus http://www.grisoft.com Panda online AntiVirus scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/ActiveScan/ Catalog of removal tools http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts file http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm links provided as a courtesy, read all instructions on the pages before use Grateful thanks to the authors/webmasters "Phil" wrote in message ... | Hi can anyone give me some advice - I recently reinstalled | windows 98 to my pc after it wiped all of the files one | day ! | I have a 20gb hard drive but im getting a message that the | disk is full, when I look at the C: drive it only shows | 1.99 gb, can anyone help please. | | Phil M | UK |

Hi Phill,
Large disk support was not selected when the disk was partitioned using Fdisk. Here's a work around to resize the partition without loosing data. Use the built-in utility to convert from Fat16 to Fat32. Resize the partition to it's full size using Bootit NG. Start BING and click on Maintenance. Click on Partition Work Select the partition to resize Click Resize then OK ("Checking for errors" will appear) Click Resize and choose the new size A Warning to back-up all important data will be displayed Click Continue When completed, click Close and Close again Reboot and that should do it. A full featured 30 day free trial of BING can be downloaded at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ -- Regards, Bert Kinney [MS-MVP DTS] http://dts-l.org/ How to Configure Outlook Express for Internet News: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=171164 "Phil" wrote Hi can anyone give me some advice - I recently reinstalled windows 98 to my pc after it wiped all of the files one day !
