Default Video Card

hi to all,
Thank you in advance for reading this. I recently
started using a older model of a laptop. this is a dell
Latitude CPi. When i booted it up with windows 98 the
screen resolution was awful. Right now the only options
are 16 or 2 colors. I can only go to 640x480 resolution.
I have tried many programs to find the name of the video
card so that i could update the driver. Unfortunately, it
keeps telling me that i have a Standard Graphics adapter
(VGA) and i know this is wrong. Where can i find the
actual video card's name. Please Help!! Thanks so much

You would be much better off getting the driver from Dell.

Hi,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I could get the driver from
dell, but i don't know the model and make of my graphics
card. And for the life of me i cannot figure it out. If
you know of a good way to figure it out that would be
great. Thanks a ton!!

Been a while since I've been around Dell, but don't they give each system an
ID and you can enter that ID on their site and they can tell you the
configuration.

No, it just says that the driver doesn't support the
hardware.
