Default Out of memory

Terrance my first thought was that running a 486 limits the amount
of work that can be done in each microsecond of time. When you're
online with broadband there is a lot of data coming in fast and
the cpu has to place and sort that data where it's going.

You have enough memory but you don't have enough horsepower to
run with the added load of the data streaming in faster than
it used to.

When you say you have 200mb of memory left that is your electronic
memory in your computer part of the 512 you have installed. If you
were to exceed that then windows would go to the hard drive for more
'virtual' memory. people who said get more disk space are not under-
standing that you're not even getting in to the hard disk cache.

You can try to optimize your settings in windows. You should be
running Win98SE for best results. not 95. And if you are
there are some pages for optimizing win98 settings.

cacheman is one program that can help a bit.

another thing is reduce the kind of load your cpu sees by using
older versions of software. Try using opera 3.06 or netscape 3.04.

you can get the first one at http://www.oldversion.com

the next one is at netscape in archived browsers.

and check your other software. if you usually download the latest
version to get the latest effects the only thing you'll do is
get more troubles running all that code.

lean and mean will help.

try the opera browser and see if it help.

good luck

I think Terrance would be the one to ask, regarding that; if you're
trying to imply that people should keep throwing possible solutions at
him when he hasn't responded to solutions already sent.... why ?
