Defragmentation problem
I'm having the same problem as "joan" has with defrag. I
have a task set for Sunday night to defrag. It starts properly but then it gets into a loop. It will complete about 1-2% then start over at zero. It runs all night doing the same thing , never getting over 2% complete. When I click the mouse to open windows from being asleep I see the defrag window showing 0,1 or 2& complete, then the defreg window goes away. Defrag does the same thing when I open it manually through PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, DEFRAG. Yhis has been going on for many weeks, I'm sure, although I don't know when it actually began. Please anyone, Help |

Defragmentation problem
Royse
You have a number of choices, the easiest of which is to run Defrag in Safe mode. However, you may want to consider running in a "Clean Boot" environment where you do all your maintenance at the same time. Check out MVP Gary Terhune's recommendation; http://www.google.com/groups?selm=%2...GP11.phx.gb l Alternatively, you may download a free utility, named GEODisk, designed by George Gedye, also an MVP, that manages this process for you. If interested, see; http://mvps.org/PracticallyNerded/Software.htm Hope this is of help. Dan "royse" wrote in message ... I'm having the same problem as "joan" has with defrag.
