Default Still Need Help - Display screen size suddenly shrunk a little

I have just discovered something that makes me think my problem is not
in the KDS monitor.

I have two other machines, on with WXP, the other with W98SE. Both
machines show a FULL SCREEN display on this same KDS VS-195E monitor.

Therefore my problem is unique to my new ECS L7VMM3 (MOBO)
Athlon-Duron machine which has W98SE on it.

So, what setting (BIOS or otherwise) should I look for to fix my
problem?

Thanks, and please be nice.

You still need to adjust the monitor using the buttons on the monitor cabinet, when
that computer is connected. Every computer will display differently on a monitor.

The control on the front... Pushing the left side should degauss the screen
(makes the whole thing shake). Pushing the right side should give you a menu
to make adjustments.

If these aren't working then your monitor is broken and any adjustments you
want to make will have to be done in the Display Properties in Windows.
There is nothing you can do outside of Windows to make adjustments except
fix/replace the monitor.

Most monitors are designed to have a 1/4" dark gap at the sides of the
monitors anyhow.

Well I agree that the monitor must be broken - at least the control
knob part.

The 1/4" is really about 1/2", now that I look a little closer.

Thanks for info on Monitor control.

It sounds like your video card may be failing.

I had a HP comp running win98se that I had downloaded updated video drivers
for. The screen then left a three inch 'frame' of black all around. I got
into the advanced display properties and it said that my CRT monitor was an
LCD monitor. After I changed that everything was fine. Hope it helps.
