Default Line in bootup

My computer is an IBM PC 300PL Win 98se os, 500 mhrtz pIII processor
with 768 mb ram. When I boot up I get this line: C\Rem TShoot: Rem
TShoot: Does anyone know what this means? I recently activated my
autoexec.bat file by inserting a line in order to get an old HP
Calcomp program to work. Machine works fine, I was just curious. Any
ideas?

It is in your autoexec.bat file....have a look in it in the root of C:, using
Notepad, instead of looking at it in the System Configuration Utility (msconfig).

If that is all it says, you can remove those lines from the file, leaving it blank;
or you can make this the very first line of the autoexec.bat file:
@echo off

That will stop it from appearing on-screen at boot.

Thanks, That did it! Any idea what caused that line to be entered into
the autoexec.bat file?

Those lines are added when you use the System Configuration Utility
(StartRunmsconfig) to disable or modify the autoexec.bat, config.sys, win.ini, or
system.ini file. It creates an "empty" replacement file when disabled, or REM'd
lines when modified, to let you know it was made by the troubleshooter (Tshoot).
Lines beginning with REM are not processed. I am guessing that you used msconfig at
some point in working with the autoexec.bat file, to modify it, and that is why the
lines are there.

Have a look here for a fuller explanation:
