win98 not recognizing scsi card
I am trying to install a HP Scanjey 5p in my daughter's Compaq Deskpro computer through a SYM20403 SCSI card that came with the scanner. The machine will not boot so assume it refuses to recognize the SCSI card. Any suggestions? Also, is there a way to check the card to ascertain if it is OK?

win98 not recognizing scsi card
Haven't installed an ISA card in many years. Do know that only one or two
of many ISA slots can be used for such ISA mounted scsi interface cards. Don't expect it to work on the first ISA slot you try. You may have to reset the bios for it to assign the irq for the card. It should be a busmaster slot as well. If your ISA slots are not PNP capable, it will be much more difficult that what you're used to. Found some of these cards via Google for as little as .99 cents.
