Default ethernet card

i have win98se just installed an internal ethernet card,driver would
not download,hardware wizard got stuck when prompted in insert win98se
disk,then got an error stating windows could not find correct file dll
??
i called a computer store the tech said i would have to search the
win98se disk now im really confused.
Any helpers?thanks in advance

the eithernet card should have come with a driver (on cd or floppy)
use that to install it

Yes, but if full networking support for the card is not already
installed, it will need the Windows installation files to install
networking components.

What do you mean it "got stuck"? Did the system freeze? Or is it just
not able to find the file?

Is this a standard Windows 98 installation CD, or is it some
manufacturer's "Restore" disk?

What DLL is the Wizard looking for?
