Default DirectX .9

Win98se

I have directx.8 installed but wonder if I install directx.9.0 it will
messup my PC.
Is directX9.0 for WinXP.?

If it's working ok now and you don't have any game(s) you want to play that
DEMAND DX9 (some suggest they do but work fine anyway under DX8) then I'd
suggest leave well enough alone. Remember MS has designed the installation
to be "uninstallable" (reprehensible design IMHO) and generally requires a
clean re-install of the OS if things don't work out.

DirectX9.0b came in hard for me. It took TWO reboots to "complete" it's
install. Luckily, the second appeared to continue from where the first
left off. Seems to be in here well enough.

There is a slight wobble in my display, but I can't really say it was
9.0b did it.
