I need to know what version of Windows 98 I'm running.
I've forgotten how to retrieve this info from the system.
Can anyone refresh my memory?

Hold down the Windows key and press the R key

Type DXDIAG and hit Enter

Build 1998 is Windows 98 Original
Build 2222 is Windows 98 Second Edition

I understand that someone has 4.10.2223 but this system fully updated show
98 Second Edition
4.10.2222 B from 4.10.2222 A
after update cd and all updates
applied ??? (Dazed and Confused)

Yours is correct, ArtWilder. Only in the Twilight Zone can anyone be a
....2223! (It would still be better than being an XP, though!)
