whenever I start up my computer I get this MSDOS notice on my toolbar that
says "MATCLI". It stays for about a minute then disappears, what is this and
how do I stop it.

MATCLI is the Motive Assistant Command line interface and is often installed
on PCs from HP and Compaq of as part of recent HP printer drivers and forms
part of HP/Compaq's support mechanism.
