Default Program short-cut keys

The short-cut keys on my programs in Win98 stopped working.

If I re-enter the key-combos, they will work until I re-boot and
then refuse to work again. The DOS screen combo won't
work at all (even though it is entered).

Has anybody seen this?

Thanks for any help.

Jack

That is called a "hot key", a "shortcut key" or an "accelerator key". I
have a book that says...

(1) "If you later want to remove the key combination, click in the
Shortcut key field, press Backspace & click OK."
(2) The only other information I have for you is, p. 289, "If you have
just created a shortcut, you have to restart Windows to have the hot key
take effect."

Thanks for the pointers.

These keys have been working for a long time. The problem just
appeared after I re-installed Win98 Service Pack 1 CD.

You are welcome. Perhaps the answer will be in one of those URLs. I
don't fool with shortcuts keys myself, but I'm thinking... Once one is
created in a shortcut, it must be properly deleted in that same
shortcut. You can't just change it to something else.

But better go look at the URLs.
