Add/remove items to/from the explorer address bar?
Hi,
I've been searching the web on this and can't find anything... I'm hoping someone can tell me if they know of a tweak or application that will allow me to edit the list of folders that appears in the drop-down address bar in Windows Explorer. It's really annoying that, for example, when I want to navigate to 'My Documents', I have to use the scrollbar along the side to scroll past all the folders I never use. Thanks in advance, Joanna |

Add/remove items to/from the explorer address bar?
Hello Joanna,
In Windows Explorer_ ensure that you can see the 'Address Bar' at the top (View/Toolbars and then CHeck "Address Bar"). In the Windows Explorer Address Bar sim_ply type: "my documents" (without the quotes) and you will see below that My Documents is highlig_hted without having to scroll. Hope that helps. -----Original Message----- Hi, I've been searching the web on this and can't find anything... Add/remove items to/from the explorer address bar?
Hi Gabriele,
Thanks for the tip. The thing is, with that method I get the (empty) 'My Documents' folder on the C:\ Drive, not the one under profiles that goes with my logon. Also, I'd rather go through the annoyance of scrolling than do this typing as it actually takes less time! I really want to find a way to customize what's actually in that list when the address bar 'drops', probably only possible through a third party program... "Gabriele Hauschild" wrote in message ... Add/remove items to/from the explorer address bar?
Hello Joanna,
Thanks for your response. How about making a shortcut of the desired folder, to be placed on the Desktop? (In Windows Explorer cause the desired folder to appear on the right side, then where it appears on the right side, right-click the folder and from the resulting menu click on "Create Shortcut". The shortcut file then appears at the bottom of the list of files and folders called by default "Shortcut to ...". Then Cut and Paste this to the desired place.) I do not know of the sort of application about which you have enquired. (It is possible, though probably unwise, to "hide" folders.) Hope that helps. -----Original Message----- Hi Gabriele, Thanks for the tip.
