I had put a cd into my cd player and now I can't get it to open and take
the cd out. I rebooted and checked my computer and even the cd icon driver
is not shown. Sometimes in the past I was able to e ject the cd via the
driver icon. It is possible that in my haste to put the cd in I may of put
it in wrong, which is rare, but possible, and that maybe the reason why I
can't open it. Does anyone have a clue to get opened or at the least listed
again in windows explorer?

Its possible some form of software has locked down the CD reader. To verify
if this is true, reboot the PC. During the bios accounting of onboard ide
devices, press the button on the CD reader to open the tray. If it fails to
open, its a hardware problem.
Opening by using the forced open routine with paper clip in windows proves
absolutely nothing.

No, it works just fine, thanks

What about right clicking the drive letter for the cd, and selecting eject
in windows explorer?
Does the eject button work on the cd drive?
