Default internat

I am getting an error message reading that INTERNAT has
caused a problem etc etc and will now close.
Internat apparently is part of the Windows Multi lingual
and is essential to the operation of Windows. How do I re
load this thing and just what am I looking for?

thnx for any help

It appears to be part of Wintasks 5 Professional.....do you have that on
your machine? See the following site:

Heirloom, old and don't have it

I do not have Wintask. Doing a web search I came up with
the same site but I still don't know what this internat is
and why it keeps telling me it caused a fault in unknown
etc etc

The next time you get the error, make note of exactly what you were doing at
the time, i.e. booting, using a particular app, what apps were open, etc.
and also, click Alt-D to get the details of the error and post them back
here.
Heirloom, old and maybe we'll get it

Internat.exe is in WIN_16.CAB and goes to C:\Windows\System. If you don't
have it, H, I imagine that's because the default keyboard layout is US so
you don't need it for multilingual support (unless, perhaps, you install
alternative layouts. Similarly the US boot disk doesn't have the keyboard or
display settings or their related files the rest of us need).

However, there are a no. of viruses/trojans masquerading as Internat.exe
(see eg,
http://www.google.com/search?q=inter...8&start=0&sa=N).
Given as how often the *caused an error in unknown* is associated with
malware.........

A search for Internat.exe might be worthwhile - and if found in C:\Windows
rather than C:\Windows\System is malware.

Thanks, Shane......you da man! And, in fact, I do have the .exe file in my
System folder. I was referring to the Wintasks Pro 5.....thought it was
something unique to it. Regardless, I think you are right about the
malware thing....from the sounds of it. Won't Alt-D provide a little more
info on the root cause of the error?

I daresay. May or may not help, but you don't know until you actually have
it, eh?

Hi Guys,

Thnx for your input.
from my research it as you say is someything to do with
the keyboard and it also might be malware.
I have run Housecall and my resident Panda Anti virus and
both come back CLEAN.
Other boards I have visited suggets just doing the old
cntr-alt-del and just close it. Doing that it doesn't
appear. It used to appear constantly when closing browsers
and other apps.
From my research also it mentioned that one of the trojans
related was in Chinese.......
Funnily enough I had a Tawainese exchange student here for
a while and had to install the Chinese font and this may
all come about from me removing that font. Just a thought.
Have checked the file size and it is too small for the
trojan.
So the system works fine, nothing seems to get out unless
I ok it via Zone alarm so I am not going to loose any more
sleep over it.
Thnx again.

I wonder, do you still have (assuming you did) an alternative keyboard
layout selected in Control Panel | Keyboard. If so, probably best to just
remove it.
