Default CIA --undeletable cookies ??

I found it odd; I accessed a site for gen info on
Lebanon and afterward found my cookie box had 4 cookies
which had got through without the obligatory notice/alert
having appeared. I cleaned out a few other cookies which I
had knowingly permitted, but was alerted that "running a
system command ....unsafe" on each or these 4. I checked
|Properties| and got "cia/gov/cia/factbook/le-fl...." with
11.7KB, 77.7KB, 22.1KB and 158.8KB assigned to them
respectively. That seems to be a lot of cookie power; even
Famous Amos would be envious. All I intended was to see
what the Lebanese flag looked like.
The thing which interests me most is that I can't
delete these cookies even with the usual commands
empowered to override the warning. I'm not suggesting that
anything nefarious is involved, but I'd be interested in a
rational explanation or comments just to satisfy my
curiosity.

"Running a system command........" usually happens when you try to view the
cookies, not delete them.

Steven;
That's what I thought. It still works that way for
the other cookies; but it appears @ both |Delete| and
|View|. And I'm still intrigued about why they appear so
large viz. my other cookies and why they won't delete no
how~no way.
Maybe my aluminum hat got damaged during the abduction
last nite; or something. Hmmm!!

First, what 'obligatory notice/alert' are you talking about? I don't know of
one that is native to IE.

All depends on where you are deleting the cookies from, and how you are
deleting them.

Drop into DOS and delete the cookie folder in its entirety.

Try not to get too paranoid, my friend. It would appear
that you've simply become an official 'person of
interest.'

Sandi;
Thank you very much. Being a proto-Newbie, it took me
a little while to make with the "Drop into DOS" Rx. I
hadn't gone there before and it looked like a realm where
I could really foul up the works.
The "obligatory notice/alert" I mentioned appears
whenever a cookie monster wants to put something into
my "jar". I think it has to do with the way I set up
WinPatrol.
I did manage to delete the cookie folder but they
reappeared a few days later when I set up a new folder to
accomodate some yahoos who insist on it. I forget whoo.
Cleandisk showed the identical 4 in items in question
abiding in both Cookies & Temp Internet Files, but
wouldn't delete them nor would the simple, individual,
manual delete commands. I would not be surprised if the
answer is so simple and obvious to someone at your skill
set that it is beneath dignified contemplation; a double
(Duh) situation.
Anyway, I don't know enough to be worried and I have
plenty of more pressing issues to sort out in pc land. At
least you showed me how to get to "The Land of Dos" and
back. I think I'll start calling my unit Toto; eh?

Thank you again,
