Default Windows ME fonts

After a recent crash my system came back up, but all my
fonts were screwed up. All my icon labels were in some
tiny script type. I've been able to reset the desktop
using settings, but the script is still showing up in
programs like my Palm Pilot Desktop. Also the Font on
buttons and check boxes is little script squiggles. How
can I get windows to use its default fonts as before. I've
restored my registry to a date a few days earlier than the
problem, but this didn't help. I can't use windows restore
because I inadvertently left it turned off after I
recently cleared it. Dumb, I know. Any ideas would be
appreciated.

This May help if you get back to see it. The info is concerning Win95 but
apparently still applies. Before you go exrtactiong, using the repair fonts
option in TweakUI.

TweakUI is available all over, easiest to find he
Don't let the NT part fool you - it works on anything before XP.
Follow the instructions for installation, it's not a double click thing, it
will place an icon in the control panel. Be careful with some of the
options, they weren't made for ME.
