Default recycle bin

have somehow lost my recycle bin icon from desktop and now
cannot restore deleted files. I can still send files to
the recycled folder but they just show as Dc.? file. can
anyone tell me how to get the icon back and restore
without having to reload windows 98se as I have all
updates and fear that I will overwrite them
many thanks zoggie

Hi Zoggie,

If you use Tweak UI, go to the Desktop tab and see if It's unchecked.
If it is check it. If you find it checked, uncheck it, click OK, then check
it and click on OK.

And if that doesn't work, this was posted by Mikhail Zhilin (MS MVP - Win9x)
You can use a fix from my site, in CAB-archive
www.aha.ru/~mwz/files/bin-fix.cab

Save it (right click this link -- Save Target As...), double click the
downloaded archive, move the files from it to the Desktop, read
BinFix.txt and follow it. Mikhail Zhilin (MS MVP - Win9x)
