Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009)
X-Post to WinME General
Can you successfully install it manually using the following download?... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en To assure a clean install, your anti-virus application should be disabled and all other running processes (e.g., OE, IE) closed before installing anything, including Windows Updates. However... Did the shop first uninstall IE6 before they reinstalled WinME? If not, you may be suffering from what the WinME experts call "Version Soup", which may be causing your problem. (Yes, even though you've successfully installed other IE 6 SP1 updates.) The official line is that IE6 must be uninstalled before reinstalling WinME. Here's MVP Noel Paton's page on recovering from "Version Soup" (you may need it): http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/ReInIE.htm -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (Shell, IE/OE) & Security bextat wrote: Hi thanks for the reply, as you asked for. ;SP1;Q867282;Q891781; Yeah i have had ME reinstalled.
