System Restore

I cannot use system restore in my Windows ME. When I
booted up my computer, I got an error message that windows
were improperly shut down. Scandisk failed so I cancelled
the scan and started computer in safe mode and scanned
sucessfully. sometimes when I attempt to shut down
windows, i get an error message VWIN32(05) 000012D0 Error
OE: 0028 C02AA44A8. Windows will start but I'm asked to
restore my desktop each time. When I tried to run
Restore. I get a message that "System Restore cannot run
until you restart computer" I have tried several
recommended solutions to no avail. I tried article
Q274092, Q214643 and Q279736. I even tried to go MSDOS
and Scanreg /restore with no sucess. What else can I do.
I did recently install Netzero High Speed. HELP

It would probably be sensible to have posted separate threads for the
different problems you are experiencing. For example your shutdown problem
probably has little or nothing to do with your problem when using system
restore.

Your system restore problem. Rather than using SCANREG /RESTORE as suggested
in Q274092, instead use SCANREG /FIX. SCANREG /RESTORE is unlikely to be
of any help unless the problem with system restore being unable to create
checkpoints has only occurred in the last five days. This error will ("System
Restore cannot run until you restart computer") means however that you are
unlikely to have an usable checkpoints since this particular problem started.
It is also for this reason that you would have been unable to use system
restore from a command prompt.
