Default Shell32.dll

I doubt I shall ever be able to find my way back here but
just in case. When I right click on the desktop or go to
the documents folder and click on file I get the error
message "Explorer has caused an error in Shell32.dll.
Explorer will now close." I presume that I have a
corrupted dll but have no clue where to go to get a clean
one or even how to replace it. Is there anyone who can
tell me very concisely how to do this? I need to be told
in the simplest of terms as I really am illiterate about
such things. Thank you

(thanks to Graham Womack for the following)
Do all this in Safe Mode
Make a Restore Point - just in case it gets worse.
Using Regedit, search for 'Safeguard'. Make a note of the dll name (if
there's an entry at all).
Run BHODemon. Look for the same dll name The 'Details' key should give you
more information about when the entries were loaded. Disable the registry
entry.
Search your hard drive for the dll file (should be in Windows\System).
Rename it and a similar named lib file - change the extensions.
Reboot, cross your fingers and try 'My Computer'

I am having the exact same problem, with others but
unfortuately for me, I didn't understand anything of the
reply on how to fix this.
Can you simplify the process to fix this or better yet,
tell me what buttons to push and what to do???

Cathe
Try this one first....
Such errors are often caused by spyware - download AdAware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.
