Default Driver for Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick

I have misplaced my cd for this joystick and cannot find Microsoft drivers
for it anywhere. Can someone please direct me where to go on the Internet to
get full drivers for this joystick.

Just go to the website of the manufacturer

otherwise you can probably get the drivers from www.driverguide.com
though the site is sort of a PITA to navigate I often enough use it as I can
usually find just about anything I need.

You need to register but it's free.

If you don't register, I think you can still get the drivers
but you have to view advertisements...

That's why I advise going directly to the mfg if at all possible

Microsoft is the manufacturer and I cannot find a download at their site for
it. I have been able to get the download for the Microsoft Sidewinder
Precision 2 Joystick from driverguide but it was not a full fledged driver
and works okay but does not have all the options. I can buy the same
Joystick again through Ebay but that seems pointless since I just need the cd
or at least the drivers from the cd to get the Joystick working properly.
Anyway, I have already contacted Microsoft and they cannot help me.

Yeah, that was the one I tried Philo and it has partial functionality. That
site certainly had me go through a lot of advertisements to get the driver.

Well, it is an older version but it might work and it is not exactly right.
Rats, I may be stuck purchasing another joystick just to get the drivers on
the cd. Well, Ebay seems to have some of these used joysticks for not too
much money and that may be my best bet but please let me know if you have any
more ideas. Thanks so much for all the suggestions so far philo and John.

If you buy another joystick
you will find the drivers for sure.

BTW: if you have a gmail account (or any account "on line")
you can email the drivers to yourself (zip them first)
and they will be there if you need them again

Good point about emailing the drivers to yourself in the future especially
since on-line email accounts allow you to have so much space these days. I
will certainly take your advice, philo. Thanks again. :-)
