Boot without floppy?
Can't get the floppy to work properly and need to make a
new start up disk for clean re-install of W98. Device manager says it's working ok but when I try to read or write from/to it, it says part of file may be missing. Does that mean the driver? It says it has a driver installed? I'm too thick to understand previous answer to Misha. PLEASE HELP. |

You can download a booting floppy from www.bootdisk.com 2. If you have a bootable CD, you can boot from it (first resetting the BIOS to enable this.) 3. Drivers are for "devices," which may be either hardware are softwa so we do not know which device lacks a driiver. 4. Floppy drives die and must be replaced occasionally: but they are cheap and the connections easy to make. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |
