BIOS update error
Attempting to update BIOS from Dell download site. Followed instructions
to save file on Desktop, but when I double click to open and save to bootable disk, I get following message: "This BIOS cannot be reflashed because of installed memory manager". What do it all mean, y'all? |

It seems to me as by double clicking you are trying to run the bios update
from the desktop rather than copying it to a floppy. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Steve Jeffries wrote: Attempting to update BIOS from Dell download site. What do it all mean, y'all? Reread the instructions to make sure that you're actually supposed to do a BIOS flash from Windows. If so, reboot to SafeMode, first. Rick |

BIOS update error
Thanks for the response. The instructions do call for double clicking
the desktop icon to create a bootable floppy. That is when I get the error message. The floppy is supposed to be a self extracting disk for rebooting in DOS. I will try in safe mode and keep you posted. Thanks |

Ah understood. Seems as if some reason the self-extracting file tried instead
to flash the bios. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Steve Jeffries wrote: Thanks for the response. The instructions do call for double clicking the desktop icon to create a bootable floppy.
