Without much information to go on, it's difficult to make suggestions.
There could be monitor interference from adjacent devices (fluorescent lamps can cause screen flicker) or the monitor could be about to die. You might have the refresh rate set too low, or the system may be bogged down with unnecessary software that causes screen displays to repaint in fits and starts. Has this always happened or did it just start? What changed recently? What's common within the windows that have the problem and within those that don't? What have you tried so far to fix it and what was the result? -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "VANGONO" wrote in message news I get flickering in many of the windows I bring up. My entire screen does not flicker, only certain area's such as some ads and a
Comcast.net feature called the "The Fan", which displays news clips on a small TV like screen. I am using Windows 98 and MS Explorer V6.0 when this occurs. However, if I use Netscape V7.2 to do the same thing I do not have the flickering. "Jeff Richards" wrote: Without much information to go on, it's difficult to make suggestions. Are the items you mention animated? It might be that your internet
connection is too slow to allow updating without flicker. If it's a problem, use Netscape rather than IE. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "VANGONO" wrote in message ... Yes, they are animated, they are news movie clips. My internet connection is
cable and everything works fine in Netscape. Also, I am have another PC attached to the same cable via router and IE 6.0 is working fine from it. I have to believe there is some setting in IE that is causing this problem. "Jeff Richards" wrote: Are the items you mention animated? If it's a setting in IE you could try asking in an IE newsgroup - the
experts there may have seen this problem before. But since it is restricted to animated internet items, I doubt that it's a problem with the display. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "VANGONO" wrote in message ...
