Forwarded to WinME General newsgroup (microsoft.public.windowsme.general)
via crossposting. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Ed wrote: Running Windows Millenium, IE 6.0, 56K dial-up modem. ISP PeoplePC.Com. Need a MVP to answer this post. I will respond to additional info as needed. These are the situations: 1) On the top/title bar, it reads, as an example: Discussions in Windows Update - Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by "America Online". (My ISP is not AOL, it is PeoplePC.com) 2) The 2nd bar from the above (where the back and forth arrows, File, Edit, Options, Help are) also has the "AOL icon" when reading info. This icon changes to Microsoft Windows only when changing pages and or sites. This old computer was given to me as a gift from relatives who were AOL users. Since then, I had deleted , I believe "all" AOL files and had gone to PeoplePC.Com for my ISP. Was told that my IE is corrupted. If so, 1) What are the best proceduires to delete IE 6.0 and re-nstall it back in; 2) How can I make sure that the AOL icon and "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by America Online" disappear? Hoping that this Group will answer these questions. Your helpy help is appreciated. |
