Default moving up to xp

after countless difficutlies with ME, i'm ready to make the move to xp. does
anyone know how to actually REMOVE the ME operating system completely, so i
can do a clean installation?

Boot from the XP CDROM disc, delete the WindowsMe partition, create a new
one using NTFS. Doesn't get any cleaner than that. :-)

boot your system from the XP install cd, and during the install process
you'll be given the option to format and re-partition the harddrive.
