Default HELP--operating a computer from a distance

I live in Australia and I need to find a program that will
let me assist my mother on her computer in the USA. Is
there any programs out there that I can do this on??? Or
anyway of doing this??

Thank you

Shawnnita aka busyaussiemom,

I think you would have to use a third party tool such as Symantec's PCAnywhere
(http://www.symantec.com/pcanywhere/Consumer/) to do what you want. I'm sorry
but I am unable to comment further as I have no experience whatsoever of using
this product.

If however your mother were to be using XP (Home or Pro) she could request
your assistance using Remote Assistance which would then allow you to work on
her PC as if it was your own. Even then I'm not sure about being able to do
this from a PC running Win Me but could be possible by installing the free
Remote Desktop client on your PC. The only scenario which I've personally
tried and used is installing the Remote Desktop client on a Win Me box and
using that to log on to a PC running XP Pro.

Sorry not to be able to be more help to you.
