Default Startup Disks

How do I create a startup disk for Windows Me? The
instructions online lead me to this message:
Windows needs the disk labeled 'Windows Millenium Edition'
to continue.
Which I don't have, and I can't create one manually as I
don't have a Windows 98 Startup disk - how do I get hold
of one of those?
Any help apprieciated,
thanks.

If you don't have a boot floppy you can create a boot floppy (EBD) or start up
disk as follows:
Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Startup Disk and follow the prompts. If
you get asked for the location of a "missing" file point the wizard towards
your Win Me cab files which should be in either the windows\options\cabs or
windows\options\install folder. Alternatively point to the Win9x folder on
the Win Me CD. Specifically look for BASE2.CAB.

If you are still unable to create a boot floppy you can download the image of
a Win ME OEM boot disk from www.bootdisk.com. Download to your desktop, double
click to run and follow the prompts to transfer the image to a floppy.

In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs, and
then click the Startup Disk tab.

When it's asking you for the labeled 'Windows Millenium
Edition' I think it's just asking you to label the blank
disc so you know what the disc is for. I labeled mine and
at the bottom of the disc you can lock it so it can't be
erased.

Good luck,

Dave
