Converting .rec files to .jpeg ?
Following a fault on a CD-R I have had to use the Recovery feature in Easy CD
Creator 5 to recover jpegs stored on the disk. I can now view the pictures fine on my desktop running windows98. However, all the picture files have been left with the file extension .rec (presumably recovery). This means I am unable to display them on other devices such as my pocket PC as this does not recognize the extension .rec. Does anyone know of a way to convert the recovered files back to .jpegs or how I might display them on devices which dont recognize the .rec file extension ? Thanks Jo |

Jo,
I had an identical problem. Sorted it out using an application called 'IrfanView'. Just plug the name into a search engine and it should find it for you no probs. It s freeware so should nt cost you a penny. If I remember rightly it came from a site called Tucows or similar.
