Default installing NAV2004

I have just attempted to install Norton Antivirus 2004.
When I click to install, I get this message "the setup has
detected that a previous Install or Uninstall has been
completed but requires a restart. Please restart your
computer then launch the setup again". I have restarted
several times, but I keep getting the same message. I have
also uninstalled my old version of NAV as well, but it
didn't change anything. If some one knows what I need to
do that would be great. -Nathan

The general consensus of those that have tried to install NAV2004 on Win Me
(and also other operating systems as well) is that the program is not suited
for the purpose, causes immense problems when attempting to be installed on
Win Me and in a nutshell simply isn't worth the effort. Personally I'd
recommend that you return NAV2004 and demand your money back on the grounds
that the product isn't fit for or suitable for the purpose for which you
purchased it and with the money you get back buy an AV application that causes
less problems and actually works. Not only that but you'll have change left
over to spend elsewhere.

Default installing NAV2004

Hi Nathan
I don't know if this can help you, or it may just have
been a coincidence, but...

I had a similar problem when installing Norton last week -
1st time I installed from my CD drive, and got more or
less the same result as you had below - After several
forced reboots, I then did a System Restore to the
previous day, and re-installed NAV using the DVD drive -
this worked fine.
