Disk not formatted
You didn't say if you were successful in formatting the disks on other
machines. If not then I would suspect the disks. Over time they (the disks) sometimes become unusable. Magnetic objects will also affect them... scrambles the data and makes them unusable...your speakers, the telephone...the security uprights you pass through in libraies, airports and storeswill do this in a "Mississippi Minute" because that thin film inside the diskette is made of magnetic media, too. "philo" wrote in message ... "Joanne" wrote in message ... With any disk that I try to read from my floppy drive, I get the error, "Disk not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" I've tried numerous disks. I've tried formatting the disks on other machines, I've tried going to the DOS prompt, I've even gotten a new floppy drive. Nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. chances are the drive itself is bad |
