Most laptops require an operating system that was tailor made for it. By
changing to a retail version of W98, it's possible to physically damage her machine. I suggest that you not do this unless you are prepared to cover any damages. A better fix might be to use the WinME disk that came with the laptop. It should be a bootable CD and probably will not require a floppy start up disk to install it. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "april" wrote in message ... could somebody please direct me to a website in which will give me the option to create a windows98 dos boot up disk? i am in a huge hurry to help a fellow college student fix up her poor laptop which is running winme and i need to change it to win98, i have all of the software, but need the dos boot disk. please hurry |

Good. To avoid other recurring problems as some people fail to read the
directios at bootdisk site, here's what you do with the results. Double click it, so it will open another file. Put a blank floppy diskette in the floppy drive. Double click the newly created file. It should be creating the diskette. Under not circumstances should you copy either file to the floppy, the results are not what was sought. "philo" wrote in message ...
