Win 9x users, How Many?
Has MS ever done a survey to see how many Win 95, 98, 98SE and ME users are still out there? Compared to, say XP? What is their criteria for stopping support? Age? Upkeep? Usage? Customer satisfaction? Profit? This inquiring mind would like to know? What is their criteria for stopping support?
The same as it has always been, the lifecycle of the product which is set out in advance. Win Me like all Win 9x systems is well past its sell by date and no longer suited for use with modern computers. -- Mike Maltby wrote: Has MS ever done a survey to see how many Win 95, 98, 98SE and ME users are still out there? Win 9x users, How Many?
Skeeter: If you look for it, you can find the info you inquired about, referring to the ratio of Win9x users vs. WinXP users, but it is quite high, with WinXP outdoing the others by roughly ten to one, reflecting exactly what Mike is talking about.
