When you install it, you have the option to untick that being installed.
I didn't care much for that either.

Thanks, Alias. It was rather unclear from the Forum last night. My mind
was in an especially poor frame at the time....having problems with the Net
and couldn't convince my ISP that it was THEIR problem. All is working well
this morning. Thanks for the quick response, off the get the new version
now.

For all I know, the new version is only a new version because of the
addition of the Yahoo bar. I guess even Crap Cleaner has to make a
living (by getting money from Yahoo) but I don't see anything different
in the new version.

At least they gave us the option NOT to install the Yahoo bar.

Things have been getting a little confusing on this subject, Zee..
Isn't the "Issue" in CCleaner the main object in it?
The choice for the available toolbar was clear to me.
And where a-squared is concerned, no probs here either.
Endresult: We keep using those "Gooddies" and Heather is going to be
"without"; that's too bad.

Harry
My cookies are of a different kind.

Harry,

IMO the only "not to be trusted" utility in CCleaner is the "Issues"
section, a registry cleaner that is as dangerous as any other registry
cleaner available.

As a Crap Cleaner, I have no doubts it is one of the best.

Zee
and I really don't like cookies.

I find it odd, Harry, that you are getting so many items "extracted for
deletion." It is only on rare occasion that I have any issues found.
Heirloom, old and whatever crumbles your cookie

I must jump on your wagon, Heather.
There are too many things being extracted for deletion, which seem

too
important to me to remove, even though one can save them for the

registry
as
backup.
Maybe it would be best to get rid of the program as you did.
But then there are some people here, who like it, right?

Harry.

Just a heads up on this program. I used it for a bit but got

thoroughly
ticked off when it identified my ISP (Sympatico) as a trojan and

even
gave it a name that Google never heard of.

I wrote their tech support and sent them the 4 suspect files which

had
been totally cleared by Virus Total, btw......and all they did was

ask
me for one of them again.

Next update, it went back to October 2005 (I see on the Forum that
this
happened to a lot of people)....then it started calling Limewire

some
sort of *suspicious file*. That is when I decided to chuck it and
when
you uninstall it, you are taken to a website asking why you are

doing
so.

I told them once again and that was that!! Seems the author

(Andreas)
doesn't care that this program false alarms.....particularly on my
internet connection (VBG). Never heard one word from them.

Hi Harry,

A-squared: no problems either.

CCleaner: IMO the main feature is exactly the "Cleaner" that I find
excellent.

Cheers.

No problems here until I changed ISP's and A-Squared said that Canada's
top ISP was a trojan. And Limewire became suspect as well. Can't get a
virus from the Limeware program.....and I don't download anything other
than music, so won't get a virus that way either.

I didn't trust CCleaner.....simply because I couldn't pick and choose
what I wanted it to remove. No other reason.
