Agreed. But whoever wrote this printer driver should have
his American or Indian balls shot off at high noon. Their tech support is reading a basic troubleshooting chart and I get the same wrong advice each time. One of the supervisors actually called me back one time, but he never got anywhere either. "Arthur Entlich" wrote in message news:OspBe.243795$El.138189@pd7tw1no... Many companies outsource code work and have fine products. Art Fred wrote: Thanks for the tip. My previous printer was a Cannon and it was super. Parallel port and fast! Have you tried shutting down the computer, then turning off the printer,
unplugging it and letting it sit for a few minutes? Then plug it back in and restart your system. Give this a try. Some devices will not completely reset when you reboot or shut down your computer because they are still connected to power. PattyL "Fred" wrote in message news:avIBe.5739$GB4.2133@trnddc02... One more time -- this printer is CRAP. The software is
CRAP. The cable is CRAP. The Indian "tech" supporters are CRAP. Lexmark is CRAP. Any questions? Any answers? Anyone care for a mint? "Fred" wrote in message news:avIBe.5739$GB4.2133@trnddc02... Yep, still banging away on this old box.....
Anyone have an idea on how to clear the "User intervention required" error without having to re-boot and re-connect the dang thing? Clearing it on the print queue won't do it. Thanks, and now it's off to the doughnut shop for some serious paper reading. Fred www.geocities.com/lexmark8792 (please remove your hat before sending) |

About the corporate Lexmark world, I can't comment on it,
but if one division of the company dumps crap like this X73 wonder on the public, then, as far as I am concerned, the whole Lexmark Corp is a good one to avoid. "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote in message ... Strangely enough the corporate side of Lexmark produces excellent laser printers. It's just the consumer side that seems to get a very low budget and the results are clearly visible. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Fred" wrote in message news:scAAe.5758$Zy6.3869@trnddc04... I'm certainly not commenting on nationality. All countries
have their share of morons. One thing is for certain though -- Lexmark evidently pays extra just to get the first class award-winning morons for their tech support. And those that flunk out of tech support are transferred to the "W98 driver writing" dept. "Arthur Entlich" wrote in message news:OspBe.243795$El.138189@pd7tw1no... Yes, that is the only way that this piece of garbage Lexmark
X73 (excuse the expression) PRINTER will work. Just one problem -- I don't want to be re-booting my computer every 15 minutes. Thanks, PattyL! "PattyL" wrote in message ... Very diplomatic, Arthur! You can politely call their
drivers "less robust" but I'll call them CRAP. And the people who wrote the drivers "morons." And the tech support CRAP. And the whole Lexmark management who dumps this kind of CRAP on the public morons - I call them CRAP! "Arthur Entlich" wrote in message news3pBe.1951735$Xk.764906@pd7tw3no... Lexmark inkjet printers tend to have less robust drivers than other brands, unfortunately, and so there may be no fix for the problem being encountered. Art Fred wrote: This is one crappy printer.
