Can you type at all? What does your prompt look like? C:/
or C:\ , it should be the latter. Try SFC if it is file
related. It may be memory related if not file related.

Can you give more details?

Yes you are correct it is C:\ No it just keeps writing=20
the prompt over and over again, as if it were stuck. I am=20
sorry but a newbie here and don't understand SFC? If a=20
memory problem what would cause it? I did add some memory=20
awhile ago so I could run a program that required more=20
memory that I had. What I was trying to do was delete and=20
exe file that could only be removed in DOS when I noticed=20
this problem. Again thanks in advance.

SFC = System File Checker, it is the actual program file
name [C:\Windows\System\SFC.exe].

What file were you trying to delete? Did a program tell you
to delete it? An email? Could it be the result of a virus
hoax? Or a virus?
