Thanks for the Adaware note........... Crap Cleaner, I have the 1.35.424
version and that shows to be the latest....do you have something later??
Sure hope they get the situation rectified for the index.dat files with IE7
soon (causing the loss of cookies).
Heirloom, old and lots to do today

I wouldn't even consider deploying IE7 on my machines.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...s/default.mspx

Minimum Requirements
Computer/Processor: Computer with a 233MHz processor or higher (Pentium
processor recommended)
Operating System:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

FWIW, IE7 is running swimmingly here on XP Home SP2, on an ancient laptop.
I have installed it on several client's XP machines recently w/o any
problems.

"Error Retrieving Update" is as far as it goes.
Assumption: Updater busy?

Alias,
the IE7, I love it! The tabbed browsing and other features
(too long to list), make it well worthwhile. Of course, I am running it on
XP SP2, but, have been most pleased with it.

Turns out it is my connection being too slow (temporarily) instead of the
server being too busy. When I tried my NetZero backup connection, the update
went smoothly. There you go...
For a moment I thought this NG was dying out, but you simply refuse to let
it. My hat's up to you.
