gonefish'n@afarawaylake put finger to keyboard and composed: Since the original thread was getting deep and so as not to make anything more confusing than it has gotten, I am posting the relevant info for ms's system so others may help in getting the proper drivers if they wish to help out. I'm still curious about the HD. What does Everest have to say about the storage devices? [ US Robotics 56k Fax Modem ] Device Properties: Device Description US Robotics 56k Fax Modem Bus Type PCI Bus / Device / Function 0 / 11 / 0 Device ID 12B9-1008 Subsystem ID 12B9-00D7 Device Class 0700 (Serial Controller) The device and subsystem IDs suggest that the modem is a USR 5610A PCI modem: http://listing.driveragent.com/pci/12b9/1008?res=2 http://listing.driveragent.com/pci/12b9/1008/12b900d7 The 5610A is a full hardware modem that does not require drivers, only an INF file. See http://www.usr.com/support/product-t...asp?prod=5610a It appears that the motherboard's AMR slot is not being used. I'd make sure that it is disabled in the BIOS setup. - Franc Zabkar -- Please remove one 'i' from my address when replying by email. |

I may be stupid not to be able to figure it out, but this is the FIRST time I have EVER seen someone do this. I suppose when someone asks him how tall he is, he says 1850 mm. |

AGP installed V.2.00 - AGP disabled in bios - May be working in PCI
compatibility mode. AGP 1x supported = bogus AGP support - 1x was never fully implemented/ worked properly = check if bios supports higher, may be limited AGP memory is too large = max is 1/4 system memory VIA chipset may need updated drivers Check if modem supports bus master Set for proper monitor -- MEB http://peoplescounsel.orgfree.com/ BLOG http://peoplescounsel.spaces.live.com/ Public Notice or the "real world" "Most people, sometime in their lives, stumble across truth.
