I don't have to. I have it legally. I would also go completely to
linux if I did not. It is so easy to use that anyone who pirates

NO, you cannot go from Win98 to Win98SE by just using Windows update.
You are assuming more than you are reading or comprehending.
You need to pay or pirate to update Win98 to Win98SE.
