Default Windows Me to XP

I have two computers one is a Compaq Presario running XP Home and the other
is a Gateway 1100 series running ME. Can I use the Restore disks from XP TO
PUT ON my ME Hard disk so that I have XP on Both?

No. If you wish to upgrade your Win Me PC to run XP you will need to buy
an upgrade copy of either XP Home or XP Pro. You cannot use the restore
disks from your Presario, firstly because they are tied to your Compaq PC
and secondly because you need to have a separate licence for each PC.

Didn't you notice that
1) the thread you were responding to died in December last year
2) the question was answered at that time
3) the question was NOT asking about dual-booting, but about using a
Recovery disk from one system to load XP onto another

FWIW I have a PC here with alternate boots for 5 different versions of
Windows - and it runs fine

It is customary to copy/paste at least some of the previous posts so that
others can read the history without having to do research.

What attitude?? - It seems from here that you are the one with a problem in
that department!
