Default can't create object

During bootup, when it tries to launch a specific program, I get "active-x
component can't create object".

The offending program is not launched and cannot be launched from the
program icon in its folder (gives same error.) Program is not Access.

Note that because the error occurs on bootup I am not in any application

I have already registered dao360.dll again and that did not cure the
problem.

What causes this problem and how do I fix it?

I am using w98se on a pc, ie/oe 5.x.

Thanks

Re-install the application, or contact the manufacturer, or check their www
site to see if it's a known problem.

I tried to uninstall both from the uninstall icon in the program folder and
from the control panel add/remove programs and both give the same "active-x
component can't create object" error.

Any other suggestions other than contacting the mfgr?

You don't need to uninstall in order to reinstall, usually.
