CD ROM & Invalid MS DOS Function
- Using an old (old yes, but still the original) LG CD-RW CED 8083B
- Compaq Athalon 850 PC - WinME All of a sudden, when viewing information on a CD-RW, I cannot take or remove a file off of the CD, I get "invalid MS DOS Function" What gives? Any help would be most appreciated. - Nomad |

The only MS reference I can find for that error message relates to NT4, and
CDi disks Maybe the CD drivers are slightly confused? try this Boot to Safe Mode Open Device Manager Remove ALL CD devices Remove ALL error-flagged entries Remove ALL entries in the 'Other Devices' branch - if present Reboot to Normal Mode, and Windows will reinstall required drivers - see if that helps. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Nomad" wrote in message news:HTvLd.89480$Ob.63151@edtnps84... - Using an old (old yes, but still the original) LG CD-RW CED 8083B - Compaq Athalon 850 PC - WinME All of a sudden, when viewing information on a CD-RW, I cannot take or remove a file off of the CD, I get "invalid MS DOS Function" What gives?
