display goes black

Recently my display goes black when I am on the internet
and click to close or expand a new window. It happens at
various times and after it does nothing works to bring it
back up. The power stays on but screen is totally black.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I occasionally have that problem too while playing games, but in your
case the following may work...

These are some pest-control programs which people have found to be
useful, run them to eliminate or eliminate the question of whether it's
the result of a virus/other pest.

After that it might be a good time to check your monitor cables and
uninstall/reinstall your video and monitor drivers (check the mfr's
website for the latest on your graphics card for WinME)
