Default Drive's not respondeing

I am having a lot of trouble with my Drivers and
Controllers. I am getting a message telling me my C: Drive
is running in DOS Mode.
Ever since I have gotten this message, my D: and E: Drives
are not responding (under My Computer they do not even show
up ). Can anyone tell me how to get my C: Drive NOT to run
in DOS mode? Thank you!

Yes, My husband tried to surprise me with a DVD Burner. He
took out our CD Burner and put in the DVD Burner. After he
installed the software that came with it, he decided to
take it back out and get a different one. He took out that
drive and put the original CD burner back in. He did not
uninstall anything. I tried to use the restore, but it
failed. If I go into my computer under safe mode I can see
the original drivers there, but only in safe mode.

Start regedit, expand and highlight the following key and look in
the right window for "NOIDE". If you find it, delete it and restart
the computer.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\IOS
