Windows 98 New Hard drive install
Hey all. I just reformatted my computer. And it's a little old, Gateway 2000.
I'm trying to reinstall Windows 98 2nd edition but I can't. It's the upgrade disk and I have to have another OS on the computer I think. Is there any way someone can help me? Should I install 95 and try to upgrade from that? Thanks in advance. |

If you have win95 CD or a set of disks for win3.1 then when it asks for a
qualifying product after searching your harddrive for an existing operating system, just replace the win98SE CD with the win95 one. (or insert the first disk in the win3.1 set in the floppy). It will find the qualifying product and continue installing win98. -- Jon Hildrum DTS MVP www.hildrum.com "OceanmindedLiz" wrote in message ... Hey all. I just reformatted my computer.
