Can't load the DLL library
I recently put a new HDD in an old computer and
replaced the W98SE OS. I had saved the drivers and got the system operating again without too much trouble. However, when I tried to load some ATT dial-up connection software I got the message "Cannot load the DLL library D:\WINCLIENT\wisehlp.dll". I verified that the component is on the CDROM and I also copied it to the C drive. The results are the same when I use the copy on the C drive. Later I tried to load some software from Linksys and got a message "Cannot load ProcNICs 9x.dll. Is there any reason to think my installation caused this problem with dll files? This is the most serious problem that I have noticed since the installation. Any ideas? |

No DLL WISEHLP or PROCNIC appears in the MS inventory of DLLs catalogued at http://support.microsoft.com/dllhelp...lp&S=1&x=0&y=0 The simplest route to solution may be to uninstal the ATT software via Control Panel and verify whether this software is for Win98. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

Any ideas? software gnenerally needs to be *installed* rather than just copying a ..dll to you C: drive. but sometimes you can get such apps to work by copying the needed .dll's to the proper place on your C: drive. try the windows\system folder or system32 |
